Rechords join the REV HORTON HEAT shows in Melbourne in September 2016

We have some great news folks, we've been approached, accepted and added to the upcoming REVEREND HORTON HEAT Australian Tour for September 2016 for both Melbourne shows.  We'll be the opening act for the Corner Hotel show in Richmond on Sat 24th Sep before our good pal and fellow muso, all the way from Newcastle, Mr Pat Capocci will bring his own rockabilly and rhythm & blues flavoured guitar licks to the stage in lead up to the unholy trio of Jim Heath, Jimbo & Scott delivering their iconic Texas-style Psychobilly.

Then, the following Wednesday night (28th September) will be an even more amazing show being held in Oakleigh at the Caravan Music Club with all it's old style Music Hall feel.  This will be a more intimate show being able to get up close and personal and we are honoured to annouce being the only other act on the lineup that night so we'll be the special guests opening up just before the REV.  You'll also be able to booked Reserved seating as well as General Admission tickets.  Check out our Events for all details and links for bookings.

We're also hoping to announce something extra special for the Caravan show, so stay tuned if it all comes together.

A little interview by Billy Menthol the 'Rockabilly Nerd' discovering The Rechords

So we had contact from this guy who calls himself Billy Menthol, he also classifies himself as 'the Rockabilly Nerd' where he blogs about bands, music and related stuff. He has recently discovered us in the last year (or so) and so approached us with a few questions.......

Thanks Billy.......appreciate the support and hopefully we can get over to the USA in 2017

Rechords go LIVE! ....our newest album titled a 'LIVE RECHORDING'

Some of you may be aware already that we have just released a brand new album this year.  We recorded a couple of live shows at the end of 2014 at one Melbourne's finest local music venues, the Yarra Hotel in Abbotsford and from these shows we compiled some of our favourite live tracks then packaged all together and titled it........ a LIVE RECHORDING!   Yep, absolute marketing genius right there ;)

It contains 20 tracks including some of the most recently penned by the band along with some Rechords classics and a bunch of our favourite covers we've been slotting into shows over the last 6 years.  We've recorded in various studios over the years and in multiple formats, analogue, digital, multi-track, live studio..... you name it, but we've always really wanted to capture the vibe and sound you can only get from a good live show so that's what we attempted to do.  So we hope it has done that and we hope our current and future fans dig it too.

We've done a low key release of this album with some shows in Melbourne, Sydney and soon to be officially launched in Brisbane (Sat 31st Oct, 2015...see events page for more details).  Currently only available via our shows but we're sorting out some distribution options for those unable to get to a live show, so stay tuned for future updates via our Mailing List.

You can check out a sneek preview of tracks via our Videos page or Youtube channel.

Live Album Pledge Campaign Success

Our recent Pledge Music campaign has now finished and we made 100% of our goal. Thanks to those of you who committed cash for a copy of the finished product or some of our other bits and pieces. (Who's going to stepping out with a big brass Rechords belt buckle, getting around in Leo's red western shirt and going for a ride on Tyron's Triumph?)

Thanks also the those that were  a part of one of the live ReChording sessions - your whoops and whistles will feature on the final product.

So you've done your part, now it's time for us to finish ours.

We've chosen 20 or so of our favourite renditions and are half way through mixing them to bring out the best of the sounds from the night(s). We're working to get the live album packaged up and ready for mailing and/or download ASAP as well as sending out merchandise and fulfilling our other promises.

We can't wait for you to hear this folks, it's our sweetest recording yet, so thanks again for making it happen!

Tune in to hear our new tune, today on PBS

The only show in Australia dedicated to the retro rockin' scene is "It's a Gas" (3–5pm every Tuesday on PBS 106.7 fm). Presenter Jamie 'Dingo' Suppa always plays a nice mix of classic and contemporary rock-a-billy and 50's inspired music, keeping us all up to date with what's happening on the scene, from Australia to the US, UK and Europe.

Today it looks like he'll be doing a bit of a special in anticipation of this weekend's first Melbourne-based Greazefest Kustom Kulture Festival including a catch up with our own Tyron Shaw. (Because we're appearing at the festival on the Sunday, folks).

Tune in with us to hear what the always eloquent bassman has to say... as well as what he has to play - a brand new, fresh-off-the-mixing-desk, cut of 'Have You Seen My Baby Tonight?'.

You may have heard us perform this big vocal harmony track at a show in the last couple of months, now you can have a cheeky listen to how it sounds on disc.

If you miss today's show, click here to have a listen to the show archive and let us know what you think.

Going up to Gympie

So yesterday the Gympie Music Muster made their second round of artist announcements and guess who's on the bill? That's right baby, it's the Rechords.

To be playing one of Queensland's best country music festivals is a killer career move - surely now I'm destined to become the next Lee Kernaghan? (who's also back at the Muster this year) or Taylor Swift?! (who's not). If Tyron play's his cards right I'll let him be Billy Ray Cyrus (also not appearing).

But seriously, we are stoked and honoured to be playing this awesome festival and 'broadening our horizons' yet again. It looks like there are a lot of great artists on the bill, check it out here.

As a band I don't think we've toured north of Brisbane yet (unless you count Europe, I guess) and I can't wait to have a look at the country around Amamoor Creek, south of Gympie, where the festival is held.

The event runs over four days and 50 hectares – so it's massive. I guess you need all that room because everyone camps. Why not pack your pup tent and join us?

We're playing twice: on Thursday 28th August and again on Sunday 31st.

On the Friday night we're going to sneak back to Brisbane and play the awesome Lefty's Music Hall, joined by our mates The Walters - it's gonna be grouse!
