What's coming up in 2023 for The Rechords

Well, we have certainly been quite here on social media and the interwebs but that’s all about to change. Like so many, life gets complicated and all of the band members have had other things to deal with and this also included taking a back seat for some breathing time from Social Media. It becomes all to overwhelming at times so taking a break is good for the soul. But now it’s time to puff up the chest, dig deep and shout it out to the world….THE RECHORDS are still here and we’re itching to perform for you all.

So, to kick off our 2023 we’re heading regional Victoria. Our first show back will be at the amazing Hop Temple in Ballarat on Friday 10th Feb which was to be apart of the annual ‘Ballarat Rock’ festival (which unfortunately has been cancelled for that weekend but will be rescheduled at some stage) so to keep the good vibes happening that same weekend the crew at the Hop are getting us back for a big 2 set show. It’s a great venue, great food and beer and we had a ball last time we performed at this joint. Then the following night we make our way down the highway to Castlemaine for the Town Folk Festival on Sat 11th Feb. This event will be held over three of the local venues in Castlemaine, The Bridge Hotel, Shedshaker Brewery and the Boomtown Winery with 16 acts spread across all venues over the day and night. We’ll be doing our thing around about 9:15pm at the Bridge Hotel.

Fast forward to March and the awesome folk at Love Police Touring have kindly asked us for support to Eilen Jewell (USA) and her band for their upcoming Australian Tour. Eilen has eight shows here in Aus and the four Victorian shows (not including the festivals they are performing at) we’ll be support for all of them, so quite exciting for the lads to be included on this tour. All details and tickets can be found via our Shows page or via the Love Police website.

But wait…..there’s more!!!! Get ready Queenslanders, we are making our way back across two borders in June to perform (x3) shows for you in conjunction with ‘Cooly Rocks’ happening over the 7th to 11th June in Coolangatta, Qld.

More details to come but lock it in, we’re heading north for Winter!!!

So that’s it for now good people, we’ll be sending out some updates as times goes by but please drop by our socials (if you do that sort of thing) and you’ll be in the know sooner then most. We’re on Facebook and Instagram (we don’t do Twitter or TicTok….whatever that is :D ) We really hope to see as many of you at our upcoming shows somewhere in your region.

From Tyron, Felix and Leo (The Rechords)

The Rechords would like to thank ours friends and fans for support for 2020-2021

As we all know it’s been a tough few years for everyone and we’d just like to take this opportunity to thank all who have followed us, attended our shows, purchased music from us and generally showed the band some love. We’ve been plugging away at this since 2009 and we haven’t lost the passion for music yet so we hope that 2022 brings with it some promise and opportunities for us to venture further afield once again to share our sound both to local audiences and hopefully those overseas. Stay safe folks and help us keep live music afloat. Happy Holidays and a prosperous New Year for all.

The Rechords European Tour 2020...... CANCELLED

Hey folks, some of you may be aware that we were scheduled to commence our 4th European Tour this coming August/September for 2020. As is well known now, the COVID-19 situation worldwide has had a major impact on Festivals, the Music Industry and International travel in general so with much decision and with much regret we are cancelling the tour because there are too many factors involved to be able to safely confirm that we can actually make this still happen. We are also quite conscious in regards to our own health as well as our immediate families not to mention the possibility of extra quarantine time that maybe required returning from overseas travel even later this year. There is also potential that it may be more expensive to travel and so it will become financially not viable for us.

For those overseas who may have been anticipating our return and looking forward to seeing us perform we are sorry. We hope to look at the possibility of touring back to Europe in 2021 or 2022 so let’s keep our fingers crossed. Until then, stay safe, stay well and you can always look us up on social media and even check out our recent LIVE STREAM show we completed on Sunday 17th May, 2020.

LIVE STREAMING.....guess that's where it's at right now

So we’re following the trend of going online to stream our first ‘non-gig’ folks. Like many bands right now, we are feeling the pain and the isolation from our friends and fans and are aching to perform live again in front of you all. Well, I guess in the meantime we can give this Online Live Stream deal ago on YouTube Live with the help of some very helpful people who are handling the tech side of things (we can’t thank them enough). So this Sunday 17th May is the night we go LIVE online from 8pm. So venture over to our ‘Events/Shows’ page for all the details and link to access.

Another European Tour Aug-Sep 2020 plus new album to come....

So the band are slowly ramping things up again after a brief hiatus over the last couple of years but there is exciting news on the horizon. The first of the big things happening this year for The Rechords is a return to Europe in late August to mid September for a short two week tour. All brought about by a kind invitation to join the lineup for Spain’s HIGH ROCKABILLY festival who are celebrating their 20th Year Anniversary, the organiser Jose has been gathering a selection of some of his favourite acts that have performed there over the years and this was our very first overseas festival we performed at and it was also one of our most memorable. So on the back of this request, the decision was made to organise more shows and create a short two week tour. At this stage we’ll also be performing in Bethune Retro festival in France, Return 2 Back festival in Austria and a couple of other festivals/shows in France. Full tour details will be released soon as we are still finalising extra shows. It’ll be kicking off from the 28th August and winding up about the 12th-13th September.

The other little secret is……there may just be another album on the horizon to coincide with the Tour, stay tuned for upcoming details.

We're still here...... news update, local shows, overseas tours & more to come.

Hey ho folks.  Yep, we're in one of our quiet modes lately, kicking back and dealing with life you know how it goes but we've been busily working away in the background on a bunch of projects for the months to come and later this year.   Firstly, we're super excited to be performing live again 'tonight' actually back in Bendigo thanks to the warm return invitation by Dani Fry and the team from the 'House of Music', this time in the new digs of the Miners Tavern kicking off from 8pm (see our event page for tickets or grab them at the door).

Next we'll be announcing a short term residency happening again..... in April and yep, you guessed it, back at one of our favourite venues in town, The Gem.  We can't wait. Full details to be included on the site shortly.

Then...... (drum roll please)...... we'll be officially announcing the completed European Tour lineup for late July into August for 2018.  Just awaiting some final confirmation and details of a few more shows then we'll be letting you all know where and when you can catch us overseas, so spread the word to your friends in the UK, Germany, Italy, Belgium, Denmark and the Nederlands (possibly France too!).  Stay tooned for more exciting updates to come.

2nd of our 7 inch Vinyl Records launching 11th Nov

'LYING LIPS / HAVE YOU SEEN MY BABY TONIGHT' are the next single releases in the series.

The band is buzzed once again to keep rolling out these new singles they've recorded at Los Bomberos studio with the help of David M. Turner esq. at the helm adding creative input with production and twiddling the knobs (or keys).  The next two tracks are coming out again on a Double A Sided 7 inch vinyl that will include an insert sleeve containing the lyrics of boths songs.

The Rechords have drawn on many influences from the Americana genre with particular roots in the golden tones of the 1940’s, 50’s & 60’s. The stripped back line-up of acoustic and electric guitars with an upright bass allows their rich three-part harmonies to shine through while ensuring the rhythm is still upfront and strong.

Lying Lips” sees the Rechords tap back into their vintage country roots to lament the dangerous temptation of alluring beauty everywhere.  'Those lips are only lying to you...' the high harmonies cry '...they won't only break your heart, they'll ruin your mind'!

Have You Seen My Baby Tonight” is a teen-rebel anthem of being restless and pining for that special someone. Lush 3 part harmonies paired with a desperate rock'n'roll tone accompany dramatic lead vocals from both Leo & Felix.

These are songs written and delivered with authenticity from a group taking their music in an exciting new direction. In coming months, on top of local release parties for each subsequent Double A side record the trio are also in the middle of scheduling their next European Tour for late July-Mid August 2018 to promote their new music overseas.

In addition to each limited release 7" record, digital downloads will be available through the SHOP page on this website.

'Lying Lips/Have You Seen My Baby Tonight' launching at ‘Heartaches & Hangovers’ at the Thornbury Theatre on Saturday 11th November. Click here for full show details
