The Retreat welcomes back The Rechords but this time we have a special guest opening up the night, Patrick Wilson in duo format (with pedal steel). It’ll be a night of fun, music, dancing and all-round good times with the flavour of Americana dripping out of every instrument. Pat will be kicking of a country-vibe set at 8pm then the lads take the stage for 2 sets, the first starting about 9pm and taking you all the way through till about 10:45pm. We’re so looking forward to this show, it’s always a good foot stomping time in the main room at The Retreat, so we’ll see you there!
First time at the Catfish and it’s been awhile since we’ve done a Friday night folks so this should be a whole bunch of fun. We’re going to be kicking off from 9pm and deliver 2 full sets of our Americana goodness throughout the night. So come on down to Gertrude Street and let’s show Fitzroy what they’ve been missing out on.
Lucero has long been admired in their hometown of Memphis, where they have hosted The Lucero Family Block Party every spring for a number of years. At the 2018 Block Party they celebrated their 20th anniversary as a band, with the city’s Mayor Jim Strickland officially declaring it ‘Lucero Day.’
The group found their name in a Spanish/English dictionary. Lucero is variously translated as bright star or morning star. None of them can speak Spanish.
THIS SHOW IS STRICTLY 18+
Presented by Love Police
The lads from newly formed MOTOV8ORS have invited us to join forces with them at The Retreat Hotel in Brunswick for an ‘Americana Sunday’. They’ll be ramping things up from 3pm with 2 sets then the lads from The Rechords will carry on the good vibes from about 5pm onwards for another 2 sets.
Our last show for 2018 and kickin’ into 2019 will be happening at the wonderfully cosy Union Hotel tucked away in Brunswick and to help us out we’ll have the young and talented James Schembri opening up for us with a sweet set of Rockabilly from 8:45pm in duo format (special guest bassist, Tyron lending a hand).
We’ll be hootin’ and a hollerin’ with 2 big sets from about 10pm and keep the festivities going through till about 12:30am.

Well.....it's finally time.
The 3rd and Final 7 Inch Vinyl release in the series will be launched @ the Gem in conjunction with our 'Tour Goodbye' show. It's either our last show before the European Tour or....could it be our First Show of the Tour?? You decide.
We'll be launching our next recorded project, it's the 3rd and final in the 45rpm's we're producing for 2018. The Double A Sided Vinyl titled 'Goodnight, Good Luck, Goodbye / Handful of Cash (Eyes Turn to Trash)' are another couple of tracks we recorded at the fabulous Los Bomberos Studio in Clifton Hill with the amazing David M Turner Esq. at the helm lending his ear, advice and twiddling the knobs.
So come on down to the Gem Bar for another blast of a show to help us celebrate the trio of records we've launched and to say your farewells before we head off on our 3rd European Tour.
You know what they say......all good things come in threes.
3 Band Members....
3 European Tours.....
The Gem Bar has played a huge part in the history of The Rechords and became our 'home away from home' predominently through 2010 till 2012 every Sunday for our infamous "Saddle Up Sundays". Ever since then our regular fans, many who became friends of the band, have attended each and every show almost and supported us throughout our career since 2009. We've been back and forth for a couple of short monthly residencies and a few special one-off shows over the last 5 years but it's been a long time between drinks (as they say).
So we'll be returning to our favourite bar in Melbourne for another special series of shows every Sunday through April, a chance to relive the atmosphere that only the Gem Bar provides, kick up ya heels on the hardwood floor, grab a beer, chow down on some of the best pub grub in town and catch up with friends all whilst bopping away to some of your fav Rechords tunes and be privy to hearing some fresh new tracks.
It all starts EASTER SUNDAY 1st April, this will be a HUGE show to kick off the Sunday residency for those who have the Monday Public Holiday off!!
The Rechords head back to Ballarat to perform at the brand new venue run by the fabulous Dani Fry (ex-Suttons House of Music now under the banner of just 'House of Music')...... the MINERS TAVERN.
We love performing in Ballarat and are so glad that there is a new venue to come back to and it just so happens it falls on the same weekend as the town's Ballarat Beat festival (but our show is not associated with the festival). We'll have both our recent 7 inch Vinyls available for purchase at the show, the most recent being the double A Sided 'Have You Seen My Baby Tonight / Lying Lips'. We're looking forward to seeing all our regional fans again.
Two huge sets kicking off from 8:30pm till 11pm.
Tickets just $20 (available here - https://ballarattickets.com.au/event/6403)
The second 7inch Vinyl release from The Rechords will be happening inconjunction with the new annual 'Heartaches & Hangovers' event at the Thornbury Theatre in you guessed it..... Thornbury (Vic).
TICKETS AVAILABLE VIA THIS LINK
Heartaches & Hangovers is a new regular honky tonk night in the Thornbury Theatre’s Velvet Room on the second Saturday of every month. Unique to this night is the supreme pairing of community radio legends Denise Hylands (Twang -Triple R FM, Saturdays 2pm -4pm) with Dave Heard (Acid Country- PBS FM, Thursdays 3pm - 5pm) as resident DJs going back to back playing your favourite country tunes including a few by the night’s namesake George Jones that will be sure to get feet two stepping on the dance floor.
'LYING LIPS + HAVE YOU SEEN MY BABY TONIGHT' is the next Double A Sided 7" in a series that are being released over the next 12 months from the trio and they are honoured to launch it at this incredible night at one of Thornbury's most iconic venues and some of Melbourne's legendary community radio personalities / announcers from PBS & RRR fm. This will be a great night folks so get on down to support your local music community and grab your limited edition vinyl on the night.
The new single releases continue for Melbourne trio The Rechords from the collaboration with producer/engineer, David M Turner Esq. The second of many releases to come from these sessions is the Double A side 7" record “Lying Lips/Have You Seen My Baby Tonight” .
The Rechords draw on many influences from the Americana genre with particular roots in the golden tones of the 1940’s, 50’s & 60’s. A stripped back line-up of acoustic and electric guitars with an upright bass allows their rich three-part harmonies to shine through while ensuring the rhythm is still upfront and strong.
“Lying Lips” sees the Rechords tap back into their vintage country roots to lament the dangerous temptation of alluring beauty everywhere.
'Those lips are only lying to you...' the high harmonies cry '...they won't only break your heart, they'll ruin your mind'!
“Have You Seen My Baby Tonight” is a teen-rebel anthem of being restless and pining for that special someone. Lush 3 part harmonies paired with a desperate rock'n'roll tone accompany
dramatic lead vocals from both Leo & Felix.
These are songs written and delivered with authenticity from a group taking their music in an exciting new direction.
It's another sad day for the music scene, this time in Ballarat, Victoria. Sutton's House of Music is bringing it's 'A Game' for a final hoorah, red tape and pressure has forced the hand of Dani & the team that run the venue to close it's doors unfortunately. So this weekend is going to be huge and The Rechords have been invited to take part and we're taking this opportunity to make it our regional Release Party for our newest 7 inch Vinyl release for 'MOCKINGBIRD + SEEING THINGS'

Rechords headline the 'Rock the Clock' mini-festival out at Camperdown, Victoria this October. Yep, the town of Camperdown were keen to keep the festivities happening in October so thanks to the efforts of Peter Daffy and some volunteers they've created a mini festival over the 20th-22nd with some great music and more keeping everyone entertained.
See their website for full details:- ROCK THE CLOCK
More details to come.
As part of the Side Shows for 'OUT ON THE WEEKEND' the Rechords have been invited to join the line-up for TRAVELLER (USA - Jonny Fritz, Robert Ellis and Cory Chisel’s new band) & THE DESLONDES (New Orleans combo) taking place at the Northcote Social Club.
Get along to this one folks, sounds like it's going to be an interesting mix of musical styles this night. Thanks to Love Police Touring for the opportunity.
This is it folks......the results of their blood, sweat & tears over the last 9 months. The band have been keeping a relatively low key, simply working on new recordings to release and share with their fans. They formed a great working relationship (and friendship) with David M Turner, Producer & Engineer of Los Bomberos Studio in Northcote, Victoria. With the Dave & Assistant Engineer Kyle Lane and the amazing writing talents of both Felix and Leo, the band have created 10 studio tracks so far (with more in the works) which we have decided to release as a 'collection' of double sided Limited Edition 7 inch Vinyl records. These will be released over the next 12 months, with their intention to release two new tracks at a time every 2 to 3 months.
The first two tracks hot off the production line are 'MOCKINGBIRD' and 'SEEING THINGS' which some might be familiar with from some of our recent live shows in the past. Well now you can take them home with you, both on Vinyl format as well as being available in the usual Digital Download option. Remember folks, these Vinyls will be limited to just a run of 200, so get in quick if you want one!
The Rechords are putting together a big 'ol bash at one of Melbourne's most unique venues, the Gasometer Hotel in Collingwood with it's optional 'opening roof' band room. It's the perfect opportunity and they have invited Special Guests, The Bon Ton Rhythms to help celebrate.
TICKETS ONLINE - Available via Link Below (Source) $10+bf or $12 on the door.

Rechords return to Suttons House of Music once again for another HUGE night of sweet Americana flavoured tunes that only these guys can do. Dani and the team have invited us back for two sets of our favourite songs and we're buzzed to be able to get back to Ballarat and in particular Sutton's which has to be the best venue in town I reckon. These guys have some great food as well so why not get there earlier for a feed and then hang around for the fun to begin around 9pm. We may even have a very special guest jumping up for a tune or two, who came all the way from the U.K. ;)
Just so happens our show coincides with the local Ballarat Beat Festival so if your in town for that why not drop on in for even just a set then you can catch some of the other bands performing at the weekender. But hey, if ya diggin' our show stay for the whole shebang!!!
See ya there folks. This is only one of a few shows we'll be doing for awhile during our time dedicated to rehearsing and recording back in the studio.

Rechords return to the Post Office Hotel in Coburg on Sunday 13th Nov, 2016
Reservoir has never been known for its arts and music scene… or any scene, really. According to most, it’s the creative never-never of Melbourne’s north. An uneventful suburb. A sleepy kind of place. If there’s anything exciting going on, you best believe it’s not going on in Reservoir.
But that’s all about to change.
On Sunday 30th October the Preston-Reservoir Bowls Club will throw open its doors for the inaugural Reservoir Stomp. It’s an event run by locals for locals…. and anyone else that’s ever been too afraid to venture beyond Bell Street to attend a gig.
The concept for the Reservoir Stomp came about after proud “Reza” residents Emma Peel (PBS FM) and Danny Walsh (Danny Walsh Banned) kept bumping into fellow performers at the local IGA. Performers who were just as passionate about their home suburb as they were. You see, Reservoir is a great place to live. It’s one of the few remaining suburbs in outer Melbourne where you can still buy a home made cream bun at the cake shop; Where you still get a sense of Australian ‘suburbia’ in all its glory. And for performers, it’s the perfect place to be inspired.
The Reservoir Stomp is a celebration of the suburb’s rich and diverse talent base, spanning dance, comedy and, of course, music. More than 20 of Reservoir’s finest exponents of funk, soul, salsa, garage, rock’n’roll and rockabilly will take to the stage alongside up-and-coming stars of r&b, rap and punk. There’ll be Bollywood and hip hop dancers and authentic 1960’s dance classes, too. There’ll be celebrity MC’s to officiate proceedings. There’ll be local food vendors and barefoot bowls. And to top it off, there’ll be an incredible All Stars Band playing hits from Quentin Tarantino’s iconic Reservoir Dogs soundtrack.
Yeah, nothing much happens in Reservoir - only the biggest suburban shindig of the year!
THE RECHORDS will be included in one of the best local lineups seen this side of the Yarra. More details to come soon....re: Times.
‘Sounds of Americana’ is what you will hear at The Hamo on this night. Two bands, one from south of the border down Melbourne way (THE RECHORDS) and the other from the local state hailing from Sydney (CRUISIN' DEUCES) joining forces for one hell of a roots explosion. Both acts may have the feel and perhaps the look of that cross between Western Swing, Hillbilly and Rockin’ acts of the 40’s / 50’s but don’t let looks fool you, you’ll hear more than just 12 bar twang all night.
Never judge a band by it’s name, cause the Cruisin’ Deuces will be packing an almighty punch from a stripped back version of their normal lineup. This night will see trio versus trio, the Deuces will be in the form of Guitar, Double Bass and Pedal Steel kickin’ off the Americana vibe earlier on and continuing to enthral theaudience as they have been doing consistently since forming in Sydney’s inner west.
There will be ‘No Drums Required’ on this night……but rest assured there will be plenty of rhythm without a doubt.
Doors open from 9pm, just $10 at the door.
