It's the second leg of our 'Road to Gympie' tour and we're leaving Queensland briefly for New South Wales. Brief but busy as we're booked for three sets at the Railway Friendly Bar in Byron Bay.
I've been to Byron once, years ago, on a frenzied road trip from Sydney. I cut my foot on rocks while swimming at the beach. Amid the chaos I didn't really notice until the swelling made my boot so tight I couldn't get it off. I was grateful the local clinic lent me some crutches for the night so I could still make it to the pub. I'm not sure which one, but I wonder if it was 'The Rails'? It will all become clear when we turn up for our gig.
So all you southern Queenslanders and northern New South Welsh-people we'll see you down at Byron on Friday August 29. Apparently it is Byron's most laid-back roots music venue and we plan to uphold that tradition, with just a hint of rock n' roll pep.
